how to get evaluated

The Day 1 process begins with the 3P Testing, a standardized assessment that consists of eight drills designed to measure key water polo skills such as speed, agility, endurance, ball control, leg strength and shooting accuracy. These drills will provide each player with a rating that will be used for team selection.

Day 2 is limited to 40 athletes who were evaluated during Day 1. All evaluations are based on the athlete's performance during structured water polo games. Athletes will have to show proficiency in offensive and defensive schemes.

Day 3 is limited to 20 athletes who were evaluated during Day 2. All evaluations are based on the athlete's performance during the high pressure showcase game.

Final Tournament is limited to 13-14 athletes who were evaluated during Day 3.

standards

Our 3P rating system is only part of the equation when it comes to athlete's overall water polo profile. We will also include your weight, height, and current GPA. When it comes to college recruiting, coaches need to have as much information as possible in order to make their recruiting process efficient. Our job is to make the process as easy and as transparent for all included parties.

All athletes should understand that their 3P rating is only the measure of their athletic readiness. In order to trull excel in a college team sport, athletes should also be good teammates, amazing students and most importantly they should be coachable.

California State Teams will use all the above mentioned attributes in order to select top 14 athletes per age group.
